ENERGY AND UTILITIES - MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

As a Journeymen Maintenance Technician for our Canadian Operations, you will ensure that your area operates reliably, safely and competitively, and remains environmentally responsible. You will have experience in the maintenance of high pressure gas compressors (reciprocating and/or gas turbine engines) and may be called upon to apply this expertise anywhere in our Canadian Operations. In addition your responsibilities will include pipeline-related activities including crossing and line locates, reviewing line crossing notifications, directing ROW maintenance activities, and overseeing pipeline and maintenance contractors. As a key technical resource, you will be sharing your expertise with team members who come from diverse technical, business and educational backgrounds. You and your team will be held accountable in several key areas including, but not limited to, safety, environment, reliability, customer/stakeholder focus and budget performance. Acting as the field representative for construction activities, you will also assist in implementing project execution plans. As the successful candidate, you will have a Journeyman status in the Mechanical trade and have a minimum of 3 years working in the oil & gas industry. Additional experience in pipeline related activities would be an asset but not a requirement for the candidate wishing to learn the pipeline technical skills. Your strengths include the ability to coach and mentor members of your team, and a knack for troubleshooting. Experience in operations, high pressure gas transmission / gas gathering, inspections and/or commissioning is considered an asset. You will have the opportunity to gain skills in many areas including but not limited to pipeline related activities, measurement activities and controls. Familiarity with and a core understanding of computer systems and software are an asset. You will be expected to be on call for operations on a rotational basis for the facilities in the area, help with outages at facilities and report data in various corporate electronic data management systems.
