United Floors is the largest network of independent Canadian retailers specializing in floor coverings, and provides excellent service and product selection to its customers across the country. The United Floors location in Hinton, AB, is a second-generation family-owned business serving the west central region of Alberta, including Valemount and McBride, BC. We are seeking an Installer/Supervisor with experience in floor and window coverings, cabinetry and countertops to join our team. This is a permanent, full-time position based out of our office in Hinton, AB, and requires travel to various job sites throughout the region.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include supervision, coordination and scheduling of installers for flooring, window coverings, countertops and cabinets in both commercial and residential settings. Specific duties include measuring, cutting and fastening underlay, carpeting, hardwood, laminate, tile and other flooring materials, inspecting and repairing damages floor coverings, estimating material and labour costs, and coordinating removal of floor coverings; measuring, designing and installing custom cabinets and countertops; and measuring and installing custom window coverings. Duties also include requisitioning all materials and supplies, and preparing progress reports. The Installer/Supervisor will be the main point-of-contact with the customer, and will oversee all aspects of projects. Training of new employees also required.
REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will have at least 3-5 years' experience in installing a variety of floor coverings, cabinetry, countertops and window coverings. Must have demonstrated supervisory experience. Excellent customer service skills are required, along with experience estimating material and labour costs. Travel is required; must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
SALARY & BENEFITS
The position pays between $31.50 and $33.00 per hour, depending on experience, and based on a 40 hour work week. Benefits include medical/dental coverage, group insurance and life insurance benefits, vision and extended health care.
