Recruiter Reports to the Vice-President of Human Resources for Bighorn Mining, Ltd with a dotted line reporting to the Vice-President of Mining Operations. The recruiter will be responsible for sourcing candidates for the Vista Coal Mine Operation located in Hinton, AB. This is a full-time, on-site salaried position. The position involves using both traditional and non-traditional resources and a network of established contacts to identify and attract talent. Methods of recruitment include community networking events, job fairs, online sources, career fairs, and advertising/marketing programs. The position will also involve sourcing candidates who are currently employed by other coal and construction companies and convincing them to change employers. Job Duties: -Partnering with hiring managers to determine immediate and long-term staffing needs -Screening resumes -Performing in-person and phone interviews with candidates -Administering company assessments -Performing reference and background checks -Making recommendations to company hiring managers -Coordinating interviews with the hiring managers -Following up on the interview process status -Maintaining relationships with both internal and external clients to ensure staffing goals are achieved -Communicating employer information and benefits during screening process -Staying current on the company's organization structure, personnel policy, and provincial and federal laws regarding employment practices -Serving as a liaison with area employment agencies, colleges, and industry associations -Completing timely reports on employment activity -Conducting exit interviews on terminating employees -Availability to work a flexible schedule that will include evenings and weekends Knowledge and Experience: -Alberta Employment law -Salary and total compensation surveys -Applicant generation -Internet and social media applicant sourcing -Job description and want ad writing Education and Certification: -A Bachelor's degree or a Diploma and relevant experience -Professional HR certification (preferred) -Register Professional Recruiter Certification (preferred) Great benefits for you and your dependents.
